Genre decision Blog




  Our group decided to do the thriller genre for our short film. We came to this decision because we looked at many of our favorite films. The thing we found in common was the genre thriller, and the elements of emotions it gives off. The ability to give the audience many emotions in the sitting of one film is admirable by our group and what we want to recreate. Another element that we admired was the suspense that it builds overtime. This leaves a feeling of mystery and uncertainty for the viewer to be astonished when the truth comes out. For our opening sequence, we will open up within the dead of night. While two brothers are sleeping, there's an assassin looking to kill one of the brothers. The assassin gets inside the house and kills one of the brothers offscreen, then leave a card threatening the brother. Once the other brother wakes up from the other brother's cry, he will be shocked and emotional. Then he will read the left behind card and make up his mind to get revenge on his brother's killer.

 After research. I am now ready to start planning on what the commercial will look like. there are questions I need to ask myself. for example. were will we film. what will be our backup plan. If we are outside. were will we go if it rains. certain things need to be looked at. for the question of were we film. I think we will film out at the field/track. are backup plan for if it will rain is we will go inside the class and try to film in here. Since it is a Nike commercial. we will focus our commercial on a sport. the sport will be soccer, track, or football. I have played soccer and football so I have a few ideas for what could happen in the commercial. if we do soccer we will need a soccer ball. if we do football we will need a football. But. if we do track, we don't need anything but shoes. still in the process of figuring it out. we will get it figured out.

Final changes Blog

This has been a long project. there has been ups and down. when looking back at my project there were issues. the issues have been fixed. i am now done with the project. as long as everything stays the same and nothing major happens. i liked this project that i made. it was very interactive with my life outside of school which was new. i got to do it with my friends. we all had a great time making this film. i have said that editing is my favorite part of the project. filming may be my favorite now. i acted as a director for our film and i felt that i did a good job. my group was great because we all had something for the group that was beneficial. the final change i made was for some of the scenes. i had to re film them because of the way they came out. that was easy because there was only like 2 that needed to be re done. i feel our group's skills have dramatically improved over the year and i know the project will show it. knowing some of the main filming terms helps when you ac...
